On the acetabular side, the parameters of socket Size, the thickness of the Walls, the Area of bone to be removed and the orientation of the Face of cup are considered (SWAF).
On the femoral side, the Version of the stem, the combined Offset, Leg length and implant Size can be changed (VOLS). With a cemented taper-slip stem, such as the Exeter, each of these parameters I independently variable allowing the most accurate recreation of biomechanics.
