Rescue DBS and Maximizing Your DBS Results for Parkinson’s Disease
If you've already had Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and have not had desired results, whether because of programming challenges or some other reason, join us to learn from DBS rescue expert, Casey Halpern, MD. He will discuss his approach to fine tuning and maximizing DBS results and what factors might lead someone to consider a second surgery. Dr. Halpern will be joined by Liming Qui, MD who will present a unique case of rescue DBS.
Casey Halpern, MD is the Division Head of Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery as well as Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Penn Medicine. Liming Qiu, MD completed a residency in neurological surgery at the National Neuroscience Institute in Singapore and her clinical expertise includes DBS and focused ultrasound treatment for movement disorders.
