Percutaneous screw fixation of acetabular column has limited indications for minimal or undisplaced fractures of ...
read more ↘ acetabulum. Percutaneous screw fixation of anterior column of acetabulum has been a challenging task because of its unique anatomy and a risk of intra-articular penetration. Evidences are lacking for any tools to provide visual scrutiny of fracture reduction and intra-articular penetration of screw. We are reporting two cases of fracture of acetabulum developed in young female athletes, where anterior column was fixed with percutaneous screw with use of hip arthroscopy as assistant tool for intra-articular observation. In our experience, this method was found to be promising in anatomic reduction of fracture site, avoiding articular penetration during screw insertion, with additional advantages of joint debridement, lavage and reduction in radiation exposure.
