read more ↘ negative pressure wound therapy in an anteromedial tibial wound.
METHODS:
This is a patient who sustained an open tibial shaft fracture and underwent intramedullary nailing who eventually developed complicated osteomyelitis of the tibial shaft. He then underwent resection of the tibial shaft with eventually bone transport over the nail. He developed a large anteromedial skin defect over the tibial and underwent split thickness skin grafting which failed. The failed split thickness skin graft was debrided, the wound bed was debrided and negative pressure wound therapy was applied to the wound.
RESULTS:
The video is 9 minutes, 17 seconds duration in time and 599 MB in size.
CONCLUSION:
Various techniques for the application of negative pressure wound therapy have been described. This video demonstrates a successful strategy for application of negative pressure wound therapy.
