read more ↘ anterior facet and lateral facet of the greater trochanter as your landmark to begin your examination. The gluteus minimus tendon is located on the anterior side of the apex and the gluteus medius tendon is located on the posterior side of the apex. Once you locate these small tendons in the short axis at their insertion, you can rotate your transducer clockwise to elongate them. The notch of your transducer will be turned further anterior when scanning the gluteus minimus tendon than it will be when scanning the gluteus medius tendon.
