Management of severe TBI patients using information from ICP monitoring is recommended to reduce in-hospital and 2wk post-injury mortality

Indications for ICP monitor in salvageable patients:
- GCS 3-8 with abnormal head CT (contusion, swelling, herniation, etc.)
- Severe TBI with normal head CT if 2+ criteria met:
- Age > 40 years old
- Decorticate or decerebrate motor posturing
- Systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg
