read more ↘ rotator cuff pathology. The physician/patient had pain that was treated with multiple cortisone injections and PRP prior to the tear. He eventually injured the shoulder walking with crutches. He was very disabled by pain and weakness and saw several Orthopedic surgeons in consultation and was referred to SCOI. This unusual combination of pathologies included not only a tear of the cuff footprint but also a significant retracted tear of the Infraspinatus muscle-tendon junction. The Orthopedic literature suggests that surgical repair is not effective when this type of pathology is present.
We discuss the evaluation both with imaging and the scope and review our step-by-step plan to perform the repair.
