For years, multiple technique for SL reconstruction have been proposed and it has been only since Brunelli proposed tunnelization of the FCR through the scaphoid that the problem began to be solved. Multiple modifications to Brunelli's technique have led to the current state of knowledge. Most recently Mark Ross (Australia) and his colleague have proposed to tunnelize the FCR not only through the scaphoid but also through the Lunate and the triquetrum . This provides a real and plausible solution to the problem of SL reconstruction at least on the short term. Dr Ross' technique calls for a complicated open reconstruction but based on very sound principles. This is my technique to the problem. It is the first entirely arthroscopic technique for reconstruction of the SL ligament. To put things in perspective this is in fact equivalent to the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament ACL in the knee when it was first described as an arthroscopic procedure. In other words I believe this changes everything!
