CORI: Robotic Assisted Revision Knee Arthroplasty (Live Surgery)
In this session, Dr. George Guild will moderate a revision knee surgical case performed by Dr. Nishiyama. This case will demonstrate the first robotic-assisted solution indicated for revision total knee arthroplasty. The benefits of using an imageless, hand-held surgical robot for revision knee arthroplasty include:
- Reduction of instrument trays which can lead to improved SPD thruput reduced cost and improved back table setup.
- No unnecessary exposure to radiation for the patient.
- Inter-op registration and full ROM ligament laxity assessment.
- Ability to define a precise aligned and balanced revision knee plan that allows for appropriate sizing and joint line restoration, regardless of the lack of boney landmarks.
- Bone conserving, precision milling to shape the bone and manage defects.
- Component trailing that allows full ROM post-op knee balance assessment from plan.
- Precise component placement which can allow optimal outcomes.
