General Questions
Who is allowed to join VuMedi?
VuMedi is a community for practicing physicians, fellows, residents, and members of the allied health community.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up by going here: https://www.vumedi.com/accounts/login/. To register, simply fill in the registration form. If your specialty is not listed, please select the closest possible option.
How do I reset my password?
You can reset your password here: https://www.vumedi.com/accounts/resetpassword/. If you do not receive an email with the reset link please check your Spam folder and make sure you typed in the correct email address.
I cannot view the videos. What should I do?
Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies or try using a different internet browser, e.g. Chrome or Firefox. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, contact us at contact@vumedi.com and provide us with a little bit more information regarding the problem you are having. If possible, please provide a screenshot of the issue.
I can log in, but don't see anything, what should I do?
If you're sure that your email and password are correct, then also check your browser settings to make sure that you accept cookies.
I signed up but I am blocked, why? I was banned, how can I get access?
VuMedi is a physician only community. To ensure the quality of our community we make sure each registrant is a physician, fellow, resident, or member of the allied health community. If you have been blocked by mistake, please send an email with a CV, NPI number or other qualifying information to pending@vumedi.com.
How do I find videos?
You can use the search bar at the top or browse videos using the gray navigation menu.
How do I post a comment?
Underneath each video is a comment box, type your message there and click Save.
Can videos be downloaded to my computer?
All videos are streamed. They cannot be downloaded to your computer.
Video Uploading
How do I upload a video?
- Click on "Add Video" on the left side of the homepage
- Select the “Choose a video file” option and select the video you wish to upload from your hard drive. The upload will start automatically once the file has been selected, indicated by a moving blue progress bar.
- Once the upload is complete it will be indicated by the full blue bar and the Status will read “upload complete”.
- Fill in the required text fields: Title, Description, Keywords, Contributors, Visibility, Question and Choice. Under “Contributors”, you can search for and select any VuMedi user from a drop-down menu. Under “Question”, you must enter a poll question to be displayed next to the video, along with the choices for answers.
- Once all fields are inputted, click “Save” to complete the process.
I cannot view my video after I just uploaded it?
Please allow for 15 minutes after uploading for the video to process. If you still cannot view the video there can be several causes of this problem. You can fix it in a few simple steps:
- Refresh your page
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Restart your browser
- Update your browser to the latest version
- Restart your computer
- Open a new browser, for example, if you use Chrome, try open this page in Firefox

If I upload a video, who retains the rights?
You retain all rights to any videos you upload to VuMedi. You may take down your videos at any time. Contact us at contact@vumedi.com and we will remove them from our site.

How do I RSVP to upcoming webinars?

How do I watch a webinar?
To view a live webinar, RSVP on the webinar page. You will receive a link the day of the webinar to join the webinar. All upcoming webinars are listed here: https://www.vumedi.com/webinar/browse/
Are webinars recorded?
Yes, all webinars are recorded and made available within a week or two of the live event. All past webinars can be viewed here: https://www.vumedi.com/webinar/browse/
Legal
Are there HIPAA risks with participating on VuMedi?
According to HIPAA, surgical videos that are "de-indentified", or do not contain identifiable patient information, can be freely distributed. How does VuMedi protect my privacy?
