Course Description
Virtual Thyroid! The USC Peter A. Singer Thyroid Symposium 2020 continues the tradition of dedication to providing a comprehensive and current update in the management of thyroid disease. Throughout its history, this symposium has sought to educate and foster enthusiasm about thyroid care in an increasingly complex and evolving field, and despite the challenges, this year will be no exception.
New options abound for many important thyroid conditions and the clinical care of patients with thyroid disorders is increasingly complex and informed by evidence-based management strategies. The program presents forward-looking perspectives representing the most current state of thyroid medicine and what the future is likely to hold.
For 2020, the program goes virtual with topics to the generalist treating patients with thyroid conditions, such as challenges in levothyroxine replacement and thyroid disease and COVID-19 to topics for the rising expert such as the management of thyroid eye disease, risks of radioactive iodide, targeted therapies for thyroid cancer, immunotherapy-related thyroidopathy, and pre-operative evaluations.
Presentations combining evidence-based medicine and clinical experience, challenging cases, and audience questions, will help inform practice decisions in an era of complex clinical problems. We hope you enjoy the meeting!
