Overview
The USC Diabetes Symposium returns for its 3rd year, continuing to provide exciting updates in the care of people with diabetes, as well as the accompanying complications and comorbidities.
This hybrid program, offered in person and over a virtual platform, presents updates in the field of diabetes and obesity management from experts in a variety of fields.
Highlighted are areas of advancement in both the management of diabetes and its comorbidities. Experts will discuss recent updates in management strategies throughout the spectrum of components of diabetes care, including discussions of challenging cases and audience questions to inform clinical decision making in this complex disease.understanding of NET diseases will expand, resulting in better treatment for NET patients.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify benefits of cardio and renal protective medications for people with diabetes and obesity.
- Assess individuals for metabolic associated steatotic liver disease and advise appropriate therapy.
- Optimize treatment of obesity in the context of diabetes.
- Integrate strategies for diabetes remission.
- Identify individuals who would benefit from multidisciplinary foot care.
- Safely adjust diabetes medications before surgery.
- Integrate diabetes technology into diabetes treatment plans.
Target Audience
This course is intended for endocrinologists, primary care providers, nurses, trainees and other health professionals that care for those with diabetes and obesity to enhance their knowledge of up to date treatment strategies.
