For forty-four years, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium’s mission has been to provide state-of-the-art information on breast cancer research. The University of Kansas Cancer Center Post San Antonio Review will be a condensed review of the SABCS meeting held in December and will give healthcare providers the opportunity to learn about the latest advances in oncology education and translate science into better patient care.
This meeting will facilitate the exchange and discussion of the new data in the context with what is being done now in a virtual format. The target audience are physicians, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, fellows, and other healthcare professionals involved in breast cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Determine best application of new targeted therapies in patients with early-stage and metastatic disease

Discuss the advances in systemic therapy likely to change current practices for treatment of breast cancer

Know how to utilize genomic tools for systemic therapy decision making and prediction of treatment response.

Be familiar with germ-line genetic testing options for hereditary breast cancer, including advantages and disadvantages of extended panel testing

Evaluate local therapy options for operable breast cancer depending on stage, and the use of neoadjuvant therapy

Identify evidence-based recommendations for decreasing symptoms and improving quantity and/or quality of life in survivors
ACCREDITATION
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and Total Health Conferencing.
