Overview
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, impacting both men and women. As of 2023, it accounts for approximately one-third of all global deaths, with ischemic heart disease being the primary contributor. In the United States, cardiovascular-related events occur frequently, with someone experiencing a heart attack every 40 seconds. Given the rapid advancements in technology and techniques in cardiovascular care, continuous education on diagnosis and treatment is crucial to managing and mitigating the impact of this disease.
