PeerView’s latest innovative live web broadcast event - which features Robin L. Jones, MD, Kristen Ganjoo, MD, and Emanuela Palmerini, MD, PhD, and combines MasterClass scientific sessions with a multidisciplinary case forum presentation - will address developments in TGCT care that can ultimately reduce diagnostic delays and lead to enhanced clinical outcomes. This CME/MOC-certified activity will shed light on a historically difficult-to-treat tumor and the science that is providing hope for patients with TGCT.

Activity Description

Tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT) are rare and typically benign tumors that affect synovial-lined joints, bursae, and tendon sheaths, resulting in significant morbidity and reduced quality of life for patients. Although surgical resection is the standard of care and can be effective in localized/resectable disease, recent advances in the understanding of tumor biology and the patterns of recurrent disease have led to better awareness of diverse TGCT presentations, enhanced diagnostic and prognostic models, and an overall improvement in patient care.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of oncologists, orthopedic oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, pathologists, and other clinicians involved in the management of musculoskeletal tumors.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Discuss the clinical signs and symptoms of localized and diffuse TGCT, including recurrent disease
  • Summarize the range of challenging clinical presentations of TGCT, including settings in which surgical resection is likely not a therapeutic option
  • Develop strategies for accurate diagnostic assessment of TGCT, including for localized and diffuse disease
  • Select patient-appropriate multimodal management strategies for TGCT in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
