OVERVIEW
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center is pleased to announce RUSH Update in Otolaryngology 2023—a comprehensive, two-day conference dedicated to the study of contemporary issues in ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders.
Practicing physician participants have requested this type of continuing medical education activity to provide for a method of assimilating new medical knowledge into individual practices, to offer a forum to share and validate current practice standards and to incorporate new strategies in the management of the patient with ear, nose, and throat disorders in an evolving field.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME program is designed to meet the educational needs of practicing otolaryngologists, residents, and allied health professionals.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Review the diagnostic work-up and surgical management of pediatric neck masses
- Understand specific measures to mitigate risks related to malpractice in otolaryngology
- Review the updated Clinic Practice Guidelines on tympanostomy tubes in children
- Discuss differences in pediatric vs. adult polysomnography and understand management of difficult cases, specifically obese and medically complex children
- Comprehend the workup and management of salivary gland neoplasms

- Appreciate the various surgical methods to treat structural nasal obstruction
- Discuss operative techniques for reconstruction of defects after Mohs cancer resection

- Highlight new indications and techniques in cochlear implantation
- Understand diagnosis and management of AERD
- Review management of polyps in the era of biologics
