The focus of this virtual conference is to discuss precision medicine in atypical diabetes and in pregnancy, research updates regarding β cells in type 1 diabetes, and discuss therapeutic agents for those with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. These variables relate to what one needs in order to overcome challenges related to the diagnosis of diabetes.
The goal of this activity is to provide practitioners and scientists with a comprehensive overview of the depth and breadth of clinical and scientific endocrinology. November is National Diabetes Month and it is important to highlight and review evidence-based diabetes medicine.
TARGETED AUDIENCE
This activity has been designed for physicians, scientists, nurse practitioners, nurses, diabetes educators, students, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to the scientific advances in diabetes diagnosis, management, and treatment.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify precision medicine in atypical diabetes and opportunities to enroll patients to qualifying research studies;
- Recall the fundamentals of monogenic diabetes;
- Discuss the role of β cells in type 1 diabetes;
- State therapeutic agents that will benefit people with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease;
- Identify key treatments in precision medicine for diabetes in pregnancy.
