OVERVIEW
As cutting-edge technology makes inroads into the treatment of spinal disorders, there are challenges and solutions specific to spine surgery. Many technology companies push for the implementation of new techniques, but it is critical to review the evidence in support of new technology, as well as carefully review the learning curve associated with the adoption of this technology. This webinar will review some of the new technologies in the area of spine surgery and how to best incorporate them into a spine surgery practice. Through discussing specific case examples, the attendees will gain insights into indications for using new technology, limitations, as well as pearls to allow for a less steep learning curve. There will be time for discussion with the audience to allow for a greater sharing of experiences.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Recognize the advantages and learning curve related to the addition of robotics and spine surgery into a surgeon’s practice
- Recognize the clinical indications for the use of robotics in adult spinal deformity surgery
- Recognize the clinical indications for non-fusion scoliosis surgery
