This course will provide a review of the current state of the art for multidisciplinary management of three sports-related injuries commonly diagnosed in female athletes: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tears, Stress fractures in the context of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), and Concussion. In addition to providing a comprehensive, curated review of the most up-to-date and impactful scientific literature relating to each of these topics, the faculty panel comprised of experts in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, exercise physiology and rehabilitation, endocrinology, and sports psychology will also discuss cases, share personal "tips and tricks" for success and answer participants' questions in real-time.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Name three risk factors for ACL injury in female athletes
- Describe two sex differences in recovery following concussion
- List presenting signs and symptoms of RED-S in female athletes
