OVERVIEW/COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide a framework for updating practitioners in the current standard of care for patients with traumatic neurological injuries. Presentations will cover all aspects of neurotrauma care, from pre-hospitalization care and recovery/return to work recommendations. This year’s course will have an additional focus on minimizing the long-term effects of acute neurotrauma.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE
By the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the gravity of different types of traumatic neurological injuries.
- Assemble an integrative care team for patient with traumatic injuries to multiple systems.
- Grasp systematic programmatic needs in providing care for the patient with neurological trauma.
- Recognize the medico-legal concerns regarding treatment of neurological trauma
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is designed for specialty physicians, neurologists, and trauma surgeons as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical students, interns, and residents who specialize in the treatment of neurological trauma..
