OVERVIEW
The prevalence of obesity is increasing yearly. Children with obesity have unique nutrition needs. The talk aims to learn about the micronutrient deficiencies in children with obesity and their health consequences. Nutrition can help improve glycemic control and prevent other illnesses and complications, especially if the child needs bariatric surgery. In addition, it will review current evidence-based diets for weight loss in the pediatric literature.
