OVERVIEW
On behalf of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD), we are excited to invite you to attend the 49th Annual ISPAD Conference in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which will be held from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 October, 2023.
The motto of this meeting is “Pediatric diabetes in a rapidly changing world“. We are experiencing exciting, but also complex times. While research and technology in diabetes develop at astounding speed, the world experiences new problems, conflicts, wars and economic uncertainties. Especially at such times, working together as ISPAD, securing the best care for children and youth with diabetes remains even more important.
We will create a program that covers all aspects of pediatric diabetes and discuss research- and clinical developments with leading investigators and clinicians. In addition, we hope that many of you will contribute with your own research and experience, thus creating a conference with exchange of knowledge for all members of the multidisciplinary team.
ISPAD2023 will welcome you in vibrant Rotterdam, a city with a history of ‘rapid change’. Founded in 1270 it saw many problems, conflicts and uncertainties, but always was able to restore, rebuild and innovate. As an important (and largest) harbour of Europe it was a gateway to new worlds (including the Pilgrim Fathers), but also entry-point for many, illustrated by the 170 nationalities of its current population.
Rotterdam has an excellent infrastructure and connections. The conference will be hosted in De Doelen Arts and Congress Center, located in the heart of the city and also home of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
We promise you a cutting-edge scientific conference that is going to be highly educational and enjoyable for all people involved in pediatric diabetes care.
