Overview

Oncology Nursing Society Symposium

Indy Hematology Education, Inc. is partnering with the Oncology Nursing Society chapters to provide increased nursing education statewide. As a result, Indy Hematology Education, Inc. is planning an inaugural Indiana Oncology Nursing Society Symposium focusing on nursing education and the health of the nursing team to achieve improved patient outcomes.

Rare Diseases Symposium

Rare diseases frequently treated in the community can pose a major challenge to treating physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses. Additionally, there is sometimes a lack of consensus criteria for the management of these disorders. The rarity of the disease states further exacerbates these issues; therefore, there are infrequent presentations to treating physicians who have difficulty establishing significant expertise in treating these rare conditions. However, despite the rarity of these diseases, most patients are treated in the community. Thus, the education of providers in community practice is imperative and warranted to promote a better understanding of the diagnosis, treatment, and emerging therapeutics for the management of these disorders.
