Overview

Recent advances in cardiac electrophysiology devices, techniques, and practice combined with the large volume of clinical trial data make it difficult for specialists and subspecialists to remain up to date, creating knowledge and practice gaps. In turn, this creates a need for an educational activity presented by experts who review the most recent data, describe the technical advances, and interpret their implications for clinical practice. The goal of this educational activity is to address the knowledge, competence, and practice gaps among health care professionals regarding the most optimal clinical practices for managing patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias. The symposium will use didactic lectures and case presentations to help clinicians incorporate the most appropriate research into their clinical practice and, thus, optimize patient outcomes.

Objectives

After participating in this activity, health care providers will be able to do the following:

  • Critically assess the safety, efficacy, and long-term durability of techniques for pulsed-field ablation.
  • Describe strategies for recognizing and managing the common comorbid conditions associated with atrial fibrillation.
  • Summarize the most effective technical advances that target the substrate for atrial fibrillation.
  • Highlight the important developments for identifying and treating patients with ventricular tachycardia.
  • Describe the clinical impact of current trends and future targets for atrial appendage closure.
  • Identify the clinical implications of current and future clinical trials using cardiac electrophysiology.

Audience

Cardiac Electrophysiologists and Allied Health Specialists (NPs, Nurses, and PAs)
