OVERVIEW
Please consider attending the 54th EOA Annual Meeting, at the Charleston Place Hotel, Charleston, SC, October 25-28, 2023. Program Chair Michael Ast, MD is creating an extraordinary program featuring world class educators who will share their expertise in open forums to include debates on contemporary clinical issues. The Social Committee has drawn upon the wonderful native resources of Charleston to provide a social agenda of morning, daytime and evening activities that will appeal to all. Be sure to bring your significant other and children of all ages who will find plenty to do. EOA prides itself on its educational mission and dedication to the growth of academic orthopaedic residents. The annual Resident Review Course, open to all, has drawn accolades from those who attend and has become a staple of this meeting. Most importantly is the “family culture” that is unlike any other orthopaedic organization. So come join us for a rigorous academic meeting while enjoying your family and colleagues at a wonderful venue.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The 54th Annual Meeting of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association has been developed primarily for orthopaedic surgeons.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Educational objectives will be met through a combination of paper presentations, lectures and workshops in plenary, concurrent and specialty sessions with ample time afforded for open discussion. The following objectives will be addressed during the Scientific Program, such that at the conclusion of this course the attendees will be expected to:
- Improve their diagnostic, treatment and technical skills in the management of orthopaedic afflictions by assimilation of scientific advances.
- Discuss basic science paradigms as they relate to treatment advances.
- Understand some of the basic principles in practice management.
- Critically assess emerging trends in orthopaedic medicine and evaluate their evidence basis.
ACCREDITATION
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Eastern Orthopaedic Association. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons designates this EOA Annual Meeting, October 26-28, 2023 to be held in Charleston, SC for a maximum of 18.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. * 14 CME Credits for Scientific Program * 4.5 CME Credits for Scientific E-Poster Sessions.
