Overview
The DEF Biologic & Small Molecule CME Bootcamp Series consists of one-day live (not recorded) educational offerings in 3 major cities across the US. We feature consistently updated content and discussion topics based on the latest available data and practical case-based presentations of atopic dermatitis (AD), eczema, psoriasis (PsO), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), alopecia areata (AA), vitiligo, prurigo nodularis, and urticaria. The DEF offers unique in-depth immunology education with a focus on treatment targets and mechanisms of action paired with case-based treatment discussions for initiation and management of inflammatory diseases and practical tools and resources for increasing prescription access for your patients. The Bootcamps are ideal training for dermatology NPs/PAs and access coordinators and their colleagues of all experience levels.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:
- Describe recent advances in biologic drug development, regulations, and indications in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs), with emphasis on psoriasis (PsO), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), atopic dermatitis (AD), vitiligo, alopecia areata (AA), and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)
- Through case-based presentation and discussion panels, summarize updates in diagnosis, classification, therapies, and immune-system targets in PsO, PsA, AD, vitiligo, AA, and HS
- Critically appraise and discuss relevant evidence on pathophysiology and immunology as applied to PsO, PsA, and AD
- Review data regarding associated comorbid conditions associated with psoriasis, PsA, and AD including but not limited to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and depression
- Analyze recent investigations on safety, efficacy, and toxicity of biologic agents across IMIDs
- Develop strategies to predict, prevent, and treat potential side effects and complications encountered with available biologic and small molecule agents
