Overview

This IN PERSON workshop will focus of guiding the participants though a wide range of cases with hands-on instruction and interaction. Led by Luis Landeras, MD; Todd Villlines, MD, MSCCT and Amit Pursnani, MD, FSCCT, topics will include principles of CT image acquisition and optimization, how to cope with artifacts and how to deal with challenging patients including high heart rates, high BMI, challenging rhythms, and those with extensive calcified plaque, stents, and/or bypass grafts.

Aimed at both clinicians just starting out in cardiac CT as well as more advanced practitioners, learners will get a full review of coronary CTA imaging. While the primary focus will be to comprehensively cover cases focusing on the assessment of coronary artery disease, a wide range of other conditions and pathologies will be included. These include, but are not limited to, the evaluation of myocardial and cardiac chambers, valvular, pericardial, and aortic diseases, and important extra-cardiac pathology.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate the ability to accurately interpret a broad range of coronary artery disease abnormalities on coronary CT angiography.
  • Understand the principles of cardiac CT acquisition to produce high quality images at appropriately low patient radiation exposure.
  • Conduct thorough post-TAVR CT evaluations, adeptly identifying crucial factors such as leaflet mobility and paravalvular leak closure to enhance clinical decision-making and refine patient care strategies.
