Overview

This 4-hour symposium is the third in a series of educational materials for technologists scanning cardiovascular exams. We have emphasized the importance of patient preparation, the use of cardiac medications, IV contrast and indication based protocol parameters in the previous two courses. In this course we will explain how these key elements of cardiac scanning impact the post processing outcome. There are several different applications that can be used to create a multitude of images. Why we need these images, what they are used for and how they assist in diagnosis for patient care will be explored in this session.

Learning Objectives

  1. Distinguish what radiologists need from a 3D Lab.
  2. Identify the departments needed in order to support an on-site 3D Lab.
  3. Recognize what radiologists need from 3D Post Processing of LAA/PV to help aid their diagnosis.
  4. Identify the importance of high quality images of the LAA/PV for high quality results.
