OVERVIEW
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a challenging condition, requiring an integrated, multidisciplinary, and personalized approach to care. This eighth annual CME- and MOC-accredited course is focused on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of complex IBD. This course features a multidisciplinary faculty of national leaders and an interactive format. It also includes a lightning round of short didactic presentations; discussions of emerging issues and controversies in clinical care; and multidisciplinary panel discussions of challenging complex patient cases. Exploring the evolving landscape of IBD treatments and positioning therapies; evaluating the role of extraintestinal manifestations; optimal use of imaging; surgery as an integral part of care; and special considerations, such as IBD comprehensive care and IBD management in special patient populations, will be addressed
This course will be offered in-person only.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Gastroenterologists, surgeons, hepatologists, interventional radiologists, radiologists, pathologists, gastroenterology and hepatology fellows, as well as other disciplines involved in the care of patients who have inflammatory bowel disease.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Identify new treatment options, their risks and benefits, monitoring needs, and ways to incorporate them into their practices in inflammatory bowel disease
- Identify the emerging role of co-morbidities in treatment decisions and learn how to consider this aspect when choosing a therapy
- Identify appropriate ways to apply to their practice new and evolving surgical approaches, technologies, and techniques
