Overview
Orthopedic surgeons and the entire care team are currently facing numerous new surgical and non-surgical choices when treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients. These options necessitate careful consideration in treatment planning. However, limited knowledge and understanding about these innovations, along with insufficient evidence-based research outcomes, often lead caregivers to navigate challenging decisions and provoke controversies among peers during patient care development.
Therefore, this course will address recent changes in orthopedic care management and decision making, innovative surgical techniques and clinical advances, in tandem with rehabilitative modalities presented through didactic lectures and point/counterpoint debates, all supported by evidence-based research and outcome measures in alignment with patient-centric goals.
Learning Objectives
All Northwell Health CMEactivities are intended to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference participants should be able to:
- Apply state of the art orthopedic and rehabilitative care in the evaluation and treatment of injuries in the upper and lower extremities.
- Describe new technologies currently being utilized for orthopedic care, such as AI and blood flow restriction therapy, and how they can yield a positive or negative impact on patient outcomes and athletic return to play protocol.
- Develop the decision-making process in an interdisciplinary care model and the importance of team communication when evaluating orthopedic issues.
Target Audience
This program is designed for MDs, PAs, NPs, RNs, PTs, OTs, and ATs. All other members of the health care team who are interested in education about clinical advancements, state of the art care, and innovations in orthopedic sub-specialties are welcome to attend.
Accreditation
