This symposium was designed to update all healthcare providers involved in the care of stroke patients (Emergency Physicians, Neurohospitalists, General Hospitalists, Primary Care Physicians, General Medicine Physicians, Advanced Care Providers, Nurses, Emergency Medical Personnel, and trainees).
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Guide the hospital management of stroke patients.
- Review the triage of acute stroke patients.
- Describe the roles of intravenous and intra-arterial therapies in acute stroke.
- Identify stroke patients who are likely to benefit from neurosurgical interventions.
- Optimize treatment for patients with intracranial atherosclerosis.
- Optimize secondary stroke prevention with medications and lifestyle changes.
- Discuss latest developments and ongoing clinical stroke research.
