COURSE DESCRIPTION
Through a mix of didactic presentations and interactive debates, the expert faculty for this live CME activity will update you on treatment options and outcomes for a variety of common and complex hand and upper extremity conditions. The first day of the meeting will be devoted to a hands-on bioskills lab where you will practice hand and wrist procedures that involve plating, internal bracing, and arthrodesis. Come to the meeting with the questions you need answered to advance your practice – you’ll have plenty of opportunities to engage with the faculty.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Orthopaedic Surgeons, fellows, residents, physician assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, and other healthcare professionals whose scope of practice includes hand & upper extremity surgery and rehabilitation.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate surgical and nonsurgical principles of managing common hand and upper extremity problems
- Address common problems and complications associated with distal radius fractures
- Implement enhanced management of fractures, Dupuytren and arthritis problems
- Employ current trends and techniques in microsurgical and soft tissue reconstruction in the upper extremity
- Apply current concepts for common disorders of hand and upper extremity
- Develop strategies for the treatment of the shoulder, including: rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and wrist fractures
