OVERVIEW

Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy is a statewide professional association for physicians. The TSGE was founded in 1976 and it thrives today with almost 800 members. TSGE’s primary roles are:  1) physician medical education and 2) advocacy on behalf of patients.

The TSGE annual meeting provides continuing medical education for both physicians, APPs and nurses each September. The high quality of this meeting rivals that of national GI meetings. 

SOCIETY GOALS

  • To further knowledge of gastroenterology and gastrointestinal disease
  • To further teaching of gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopic methods of examination and to establish the proper use of these methods
  • To establish and improve standards of care and skill in the board field of gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy

TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience is gastroenterologists, endoscopists, GI nurses, technicians, physicians assistants and others who treat patients for gastrointestinal conditions.

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) and the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. The Texas Medical Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Texas Medical Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

TSGE will be offering Maintenance of Certification (MOC) for this conference. Please register online, when registering for the conference, to receive more information. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 11.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC Credit.

CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION

This activity has been submitted to Montana Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. Montana Nurses Association is accredited with distinction as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Please note, there will be no contact hours awarded for Friday.
