OVERVIEW
We are delighted and grateful to bring you this very special 41st Annual Meeting of the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery in the magnificent and ancient city of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Our venue, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, sits gracefully on the banks of the Mediterranean providing a tranquil environment for learning and a lovely setting for our evening cocktail receptions. Your registration includes a Thursday afternoon city tour spanning the two millennia that Thessaloniki has been the cradle of multi-culturalism in the West. Thus Thessaloniki is truly the perfect place for our ISDS friends from around the world to gather after the 2-year hiatus induced by the pandemic.
The ISDS is the only international organization solely dedicated to physician education in oncologic and aesthetic dermatologic surgery. Our meeting program consists of unsponsored content for which you will be granted Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit.
We are confident you will find the academic program to be of the highest caliber with over 150 outstanding world-class experts bringing you the latest developments in cutting-edge patient care. Our plenary speakers are not to be missed. Topics include
beauty practice in the ancient world, global aesthetics today, trends in cosmeceuticals and supplements, building your personal brand, skin cancer prevention, and the future of immunotherapy.
On Thursday you can choose from 12 cadaver and live surgery workshops. (Registration closes July 20 for cadaver workshops).
Abstracts are accepted until July 31 and the winner of the oral abstract competition will be awarded at the Saturday night closing celebration dinner-dance, a fantastic ISDS tradition.
New this year is Saturday’s “Day at the Movies” during which all lectures will contain video demonstrations of techniques.
In addition to CME content, there will be industry-sponsored State-of-the-Art Breakfast and Lunch sessions where you can hear from our meeting sponsors about new products and medications.
With over 150 expert faculty from 20 countries, we believe this ISDS Annual Meeting will be one to remember!
We will take full advantage of our time together with a lively social program including evening cocktail receptions and city tour, a Saturday Night Gala and Awards Ceremony, a pre-congress tour to the resort region of Vourvouroo, a Sunday tour of the Tomb of Phillip of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great, his tomb is one of the best archaeological sites in the world), and options for post-congress tours of Athens. Please join us to connect with friends old and new!
The ISDS is dedicated to the safety of its members and to minimizing the risk of COVID transmission. The Annual Meeting will proceed in accordance with Greek law pertaining to COVID precautions.
The ISDS has remained vibrant during the pandemic by producing a series of outstanding webinars in cutaneous surgical oncology and aesthetic procedural dermatology, and developing member certification programs in aesthetic procedural dermatology and in margin-controlled oncologic surgery (Mohs and Tubingen techniques). We are creating volunteer travel opportunities to train dermatologists globally in excisional surgery, and to treat patients in underserved regions. You can learn more about these opportunities as well as ISDS’ mentorship and observership programs and online CME offerings via our website at ISDSworld.com.
