OVERVIEW
New insights into the epidemiology, pathophysiology and treatment of heart failure are occurring rapidly. The primary objective of the 30th Annual San Diego Heart Failure Symposium is to provide the most up-to-date information about recent advances in heart failure and present them in the context of how they can be implemented in clinical practice. The Symposium is structured around a series of sessions that include didactic presentations, case presentations and panel discussions. Audience participation is encouraged. This year's Symposium will present sessions on Modifying Lifestyle and Treating Risk Factors, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, HFpEF and Amyloid, Cardiac Arrythmias/Prevention of Sudden Death and Devices to Improve Cardiac Function, Medical Management of Heart Failure, Percutaneous Approaches for Supporting Cardiac Function, Managing Patients with End-Stage Heart Failure. These talks will present a comprehensive overview of new drugs, devices and strategies for treating patients with heart failure and will provide practical approaches for implementation. A highlight of the Symposium will be the 10th Annual Stanley Lloyd, M.D. Lecture. The outstanding faculty includes world renowned experts in heart failure and other related fields. At this year’s Symposium the audience will have the opportunity to listen to patient perspectives as we recognize that better understanding of how heart failure and its treatment is perceived in the community is vital for our ability to offer outstanding healthcare to our patients.
As in the past, the Symposium will be presented in hybrid format. We encourage providers to attend the live presentations at the beautiful Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines where they can interact with their colleagues, speakers and industry representatives over the two day Symposium. For those who can’t attend, on-line streaming of all sessions will be available. In addition, the Symposium will be available on-line for several weeks so that you will be able to return to lectures of interest or catch up on those that you missed.
