Session 7: Nurse and Technologist Seminar - Introduction to Imaging and Hemodynamics

The seventh session of the 2nd Annual Heart Team Summit will cover imaging and hemodynamics.
Specifically, it will cover:

  • Primary VS Secondary MR: How to Tell on ECHO
  • Stress Testing in AS
  • Intro to Cardio-Oncology
  • Understanding the New Guidelines for Organ Allocation

Target Audience

This CME program has been designed to meet the educational needs of Cardiologists, Internists, Physician Assistants, Vascular Surgeons, Electro Physiologists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Residents and Nurses and any other health care professionals who participate in the care of atrial tribulation.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the concept of the Heart Team, including the key components and functionality 
  • List transcatheter options to address heart valve pathology including aortic, mitral, tricuspid and pulmonic stenosis and regurgitation
  • Describe the latest interventional techniques and therapies for structural heart disease and congenital heart disease
  • Apply various diagnostic technologies including echocardiography, CT, and CMR to guide management of valvular heart disease 
  • Discuss the various tools to assist a patient in cardiogenic shock
  • Describe available and emerging technologies to manage the left atrial appendage and how it can mitigate stroke
  • Summarize the latest developments in coronary revascularization
  • Describe various techniques to treat complex pathology such as left main, bifurcation disease, and calcified lesions with surgical and catheter based therapies
  • List the latest recommendations for management of CTOs to optimize procedural success while minimizing complications 
  • Review the variety of percutaneous ventricular support devices and clinical scenarios best suited for each device
  • Summarize lessons learned from case presentations
  • Discuss the treatment differences and the variation in clinical outcomes in special patient populations
  • Discuss the multidisciplinary care of the pregnant patients with acquired or congenital heart disease
