Overview
This one-day educational activity will provide an in-depth review and analysis of current state-of-the-art practices in calcium and osteoporosis along with diagnosis and treatment approaches. The course will cover topics such as rare bone disease, hyperparathyroidism, transplant osteoporosis and presentation of unique cases and more.
Learning Objectives
- Review and critically appraise bone medications for post-menopausal osteoporosis.
- Describe symptomology in primary hyperparathyroidism and implication of surgical treatment.
- Summarize the clinical guidelines and updates in bone densitometry.
- Provide an osteoporosis primer and discussion of best practices for the care team, including primary care physicians and advanced care practitioners.
- Critically review key factors of transplant osteoporosis.
- Describe and assess the management of osteoporosis in major orthopedic/spine procedures.
Target Audience
Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals in endocrinology, primary care, women’s health and internal medicine are invited to attend.
Accreditation
Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
