The University of Kansas Multidisciplinary Oncology Conference is designed by experts in the field of oncology and aimed towards the educational needs of community physicians and other healthcare providers involved in the multidisciplinary management of patients with Prostate, Sarcoma, Esophageal and Colon Cancers. Controversies and changes in treatment paradigms will be presented through short, practical, up-to-date lectures, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session for each tumor type.

TARGETED AUDIENCE

This symposium is designed for medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, primary care physicians, basic scientists, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Review updates and advancements in the treatment and management of patients with Sarcoma, Colon, Prostate, and Esophageal cancers.
  • Discuss patient response to current treatment plans for patients with Sarcoma, Colon, Prostate, and Esophageal Cancer and review outcomes.
  • Examine novel treatment approaches and discuss ways to integrate into current practice.
  • Review progression of tumor-specific markers and updates to genetic sequencing and discuss updates to targeted therapy available for disease treatment.
  • Discuss radiation treatments in Colon, Prostate, and Esophageal Cancer and outline supportive care management for these patients and side effect management.
  • Compare and contrast similarities and differences in the approach to treatment for patients with stated cancers and summarize the different methods for treatment from expert oncologists through discussion and question/answer format.
