OVERVIEW

We would like to welcome you to our 18th Annual UCSF Sports Medicine for Primary Care Provider Conference.
We have designed this course to deliver head-to-toe essential sports medicine knowledge and skills that are highly clinically relevant, evidence-based and up-to-date.

Day one will be entirely live-streamed. Day two will be entirely in person (no live stream option).

Our first day will be entirely live-streamed and will feature our top-rated UCSF Sports Medicine teaching faculty as well as a number of outstanding invited guest speakers. We will record these presentations and they will be available to watch for 30 days post conference.

Our second day will be in person at the UCSF Mission Bay conference center. You will have the opportunity to watch our UCSF Sports Medicine faculty perform physical exam of all the major joints as well as practice physical exam and injection skills in small-group workshops with coaching by our experts.

We will also feature a number of Sports Medicine experts teaching workshops on hot topics in sports medicine including orthobiologics, supplement use, concussion care and joint replacement.
Please take a close look at the schedule for day 2 as we are asking all attendees to sign up for small group workshops at the time of registration. This will allow us to have a high faculty to learner ratio in each workshop. Throughout the day, expert UCSF sports medicine faculty will demonstrate joint exams in the large auditorium.

The large auditorium requires no advanced registration, so for those who prefer to take a break from hands-on learning you are always welcome to join us in the auditorium to learn from and ask questions of our faculty. You will see on the day 2 schedule that each activity starts 20 minutes after the hour and runs 1 hour. On the registration site you will have the ability to elect which session you wish to attend during each 1-hour block of time. You need not select a small group session for each 1-hour slot – for some of the blocks of time you may prefer to watch the expert demonstration of physical exam in the auditorium - this requires no advanced registration.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Conduct specific musculoskeletal examinations and joint injections effectively.
• Diagnose the most common musculoskeletal injuries in children and adults using history, exam, and (if needed) imaging.
• Incorporate conservative and surgical treatment options for common musculoskeletal problems.
• Learn from experts in their respective fields on topics such as supplements in sports medicine, pediatric fractures, concussion management, joint injections and joint replacement.
