Special efforts will be made to meet the needs of clinicians practicing in non-academic centers and geographically and/or socioeconomically underserved communities.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
-
Review advances in genetics, genomics, and next-generation Omics technologies transforming precision medicine for cancer;
-
Cite controversies in cancer risk assessment and genomic testing for risk-adapted management, including integration of polygenic risk score into preventive care;
-
Discuss emerging concepts in Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to advance population health management;
-
Describe social stigma and barriers faced by vulnerable populations in adopting genomically informed care;
-
Identify gene-environment interactions that influence response to therapy in hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, including Breast, Ovarian, Colon, Lung and Kidney cancers
-
Recognize advances in BRCA1 and BRCA2 research with special emphasis on new models of patient-centric clinical trials and remote monitoring for BRCA-associated cancers;
-
Integrate genomically-informed cancer risk management, prevention, and targeted therapeutics recommendations into clinical cases.
