To date, the MRF has funded over $25 million in research grants. The research grant program has existed for 26 years. The first research grant was awarded in 1998. Grants are awarded in the following categories:
Medical Student Award- $3,000/year for 1 year
Resident Fellow Award - $10,000/year for 1 year
Career Development Award - $50,000/year 2 years
Established Investigator Award - $125,000/ year for 2 years
Team Science Award - $250,000-$500,000/year for 2 years – multi-center grant
