- Manages a diverse range of active research grants which total £46 million
- Hosts MindTech - a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) HealthTech Research Centre for Mental Health (MindTech) focused on the development of new technology for mental healthcare.
- Hosts the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group for the evaluation of the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of people with psychotic illnesses
- Hosts the NIHR Clinical Research Network East Midlands (CRN EM)
- Hosts the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands (ARC EM)
- Hosts the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) mental health and technology theme
- Has 33 full and associate professors, over 100 PhD students, external members and publishes more than 500 peer-reviewed journal papers per year
- Funds several Managed Innovation Networks (MINs) that ‘bridge the gap between research and practice’
