Sadie Elisseou, MD (she/her) is a primary care physician, medical educator at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, and an internationally recognized expert in trauma-informed care (TIC). TIC is an evidence-based, strategic framework for providing quality care to survivors of physical, sexual, psychological, or historical trauma. It is a growing social movement with practical applications to improve the patient and employee experience. Dr. Elisseou's award-winning curriculum on trauma-informed physical examination is now taught at medical schools across the U.S. She has also published novel frameworks for trauma-informed peer physical exams, trauma-informed approaches to burnout, and trauma-informed leadership.
