Endocrine Emergencies
Lecturer: Nick Entsminger, PA-C, DMSc
Nick Entsminger shares his wealth of knowledge regarding diagnose and management of various endocrine conditions which APPs may encounter in the emergency room and/or primary care setting. Key points include differentiating between SIADH and Diabetes Insipidus (DI) and between hyperglycemia, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Nick also discusses acute thyroid/parathyroid condition, Addison's disease and pheocytochroma.

All proceeds from Nick's book and a portion of the revenue generated from his EKG course will go to the "Annabelle P. Entsminger Prehospital Education Scholarship", which was developed after Nick's daughter was acutely ill and cared for by both air and ground EMS services at the University of San Francisco in 2018. The scholarship helps to assist current and aspiring prehospital nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and first responders in achieving their educational goals.
