Launching Dementia Caregiver Support Groups: How to Offer Fellowship, Education, and a Voice to Your Families
Lecturer: Matthew Estrade, MA, MBA
Matthew earned his Master's degree in Gerontology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He currently coaches caregivers of persons living with Alzheimer’s or related dementias. Matthew offers strategies to make the best of a challenging situation. He has facilitated over 250 sessions for the Council on Aging in Louisiana. This lecture will discuss how providers can launch a support group program within their own Cognitive Neurology/ Dementia departments. Matthew will offer some "ground rule" suggestions and facilitation tips. He will also discuss marketing and outreach for your new start-up. Matthew serves many families in his local community, and he is an integral part of the Dementia Team at MyCatholicDoctor.
