Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (FHA) is a relatively common condition encountered in gynecological practice, though not uncommonly missed by providers. FHA is believed to the most prevalent cause of secondary amenorrhea in women in their teens through young adulthood. This condition is commonly found in high school and collegiate athletes, and may be better known to this cohort as "The Female Athlete Triad". FHA is also often seen among women with eating disorders and/or disordered eating. Lastly, FHA can also be primarily driven by extreme stress and anxiety. Thus, it has a higher prevalence among women who are prone to emotionality, perfectionists, and/or higher-achievers. Sharon will discuss the diagnostic evaluation and management of FHA using NaPro Technology protocols and compare the similarities and differences between a NaPro diagnostic work up to the evaluation a women could expect in a more typical mainstream gynecological practice. Please see Sharon's Queen of Hearts and Napro Technology website for more information on FHA and many other gynecological conditions treated using NaPro protocols here: https://queenofheartsfertility.org/
